Yen - Oriental and Tappanyaki Restaurant
Went to Yen during the week, the food was great and it was a really nice treat for me and my partner.
We were on our way back from Christmas shopping in Glasgow city centre (are we off our heads?) and the M8 motorway was pretty busy so we thought we would try driving down the Clydeside expressway instead, that was a mistake and a half thought.
The traffic just at Finliston and the SECC was not shifting at all and after about 40 minutes of not moving we decided to come off to go and get some dinner for a few hours instead of sitting in the traffic going absolutely nowhere fast.
We drove around near the Crowne Plaza Hotel area and decided that we would head into Yen, (good decision) for a bit to eat, I had been in North Rotunda years ago with my parents on a few special occasions, it used to be a really nice Italian restaurant.
We ordered some muscles from them menu to start the food coming as we were starting to get a bit food grumpy, the musles were not that great and half of them were unopened and could not be eaten, the service was great.
I chose the Thai Green curry with boiled rice and it was super dooper tasty, my partner always seems to end up with the bum deal and her dinners never seem to be as good as mines... not that I am complaining...lol)
We sat and chatted a bit and stuffed our faces, then started thinking about heading off up the road after a very nice night out. I would recommend it to anyone, I would like to dine downstairs next time I go in the Tappanyaki restaurant where the food is all prepared in front of you... mmmm yummy!
Oh and I think next time I would book a table, unless it was unplanned again.
