Bar Square - Merchants Square - Merchant City - GlasgowWe went into Bar Square in the Merchant Square a few months back (with a hangover I might add) for a meal and a shandy (or two).
The meal was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and friendly as well, on this occasion Bar Square was really worth the money for our hangover curing grub and pint.
I have only eaten in Bar Square once but I will go back one day and I would recommend it too.

Hope you have a nice meal (or pint)...
The merchant Square in Glasgow offers something a bit different in the city centre. There are a few nice pubs in the Merchant Square in Glasgow and I have never seen one bit of trouble there (not even once).
The vibrant square has a number of bars and restaurants including the Beer Cafe, Bar Square, The Coffee Merchant, El Sabor, Metropolitan, Sizzlers, Moldos and O'Neils (which for some reason they don't mention on the merchant square web site!).
Location
The Merchant Square is situated on the joining of Ingram Street, Candleriggs, bells Street and Albion Street.

Hope you have a great meal of pint in the Merchant Square Glasgow, let us know what you think too!
Yestarday (just before ordering another round of drinks) the fire alarm went off... Ahh!
It is funny when you are in a building and the fire alarm goes off and for some strange reason not one person moves an inch... what a weird thing to do!
We were in O'neils at the merchant square in Glasgow yestarday and the fire alarm went off and all we were worried about was if we would be able to get another round of drinks in...
Me and a mate from uni got a bit of food in O'Neils in the merchant city and it was not that great... I realise that it is just the old bog standard pub grub, but my mates dinner looked like something the cat had spewed up... nay offence tay the staff but it was truly minging...
I on the other hand had a meal that was OK(ish) but I would not write home about it... It was enough to soak up the first few pints... then some more.
When the alarm went off we headed accross the road to The Blackfriars pub... one of the doods got the real ales (and two out of three of them tasted pretty good), after that we headed to some pub up one of the lanes in glasgow, we also ended up in the Social and the other O'Neils at george Square... but the memories of that are not as clear.
The taxi diver from the rank (just outside Glasgow Central Train Station) refused to move without me giving him £40 of my money... it is an absolute joke, I know that some guy must have bumped him in the past, but there is no reason at all for them treating everyone like a criminal... It really pulled my chain... whit are they all about and why do they think thay can talk to people like something they have just scrapped off of the sole of there smwlly wee trainers?
I had jumped in a taxi earlier on in the night and the guy was brand new, so it is a shame that some drivers are numpties and it reflects on the whole company... I am not sure if asking people for payment is even allowed by taxi driver... I know that the line will be 'well they are just making sure that you pay them' but I truly could not give a monkies if they guy has been didled (is that a real word?) before... I wonder if they make everyone from anywhere outside Glasgow pay up front.... belter.
